1. Who is responsible

This website is operated by Pêcherie Manicouagan inc., doing business as Poissonnerie Restaurant Les Escoumins, whose head office is at 152 rue Saint-Marcellin Ouest, Les Escoumins, Quebec G0T 1K0.

Under section 3.1 of the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25), the company's most senior officer acts as the person in charge of the protection of personal information. 2. Information we collect

We collect only the information needed to provide our services. Here is exactly what is collected:

• Contact form: last name, first name (optional), email address, phone number (optional), subject of the request and content of the message.
• Browsing: IP address, browser type, pages visited and timestamps, collected solely for site security and fraud prevention.
• Audience measurement: page viewed, referring site, device type, browser and country. This data is aggregated and can neither identify you nor follow you from one visit to the next. IP addresses are not retained.

We collect no banking information on this website. No payment is processed directly by the site.

3. Why we collect it

Your personal information is used only for the following purposes:

• Answering your requests for information, reservations or questions sent through the form or by email.
• Sending you, on request, information about our products, services and events.
• Keeping the site secure and preventing fraudulent use.
• Improving the quality of our services through anonymized statistics.

Your information is never sold, rented or traded for commercial purposes.

4. Legal basis and consent

Any processing of personal information rests on your explicit consent, given freely when you fill out a form or send us a message. No box is pre-checked and no consent is assumed.

5. How long we keep it

Your personal information is kept only for as long as the purposes for which it was collected require:

• Emails and contact messages: 24 months after the last exchange, unless deletion is requested.
• Technical browsing logs: 12 months at most.
• Aggregated traffic statistics: with no time limit, in a form that cannot identify you.
• Information required by law (invoices, accounting records): for the applicable legal periods, generally 6 years.

Once that period has passed, your information is securely destroyed or anonymized.

6. Sharing with third parties

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. Some third-party services do, however, process data on our behalf:

• Resend: the service that delivers contact-form emails, whose servers are in the United States. It only receives the content of your message and your reply address, for as long as it takes to hand them to our inbox.
• Google Maps: the map shown on the Home and Contact pages. The map comes from Google and loads as soon as you reach the section that holds it: at that moment your IP address is sent to Google, which may set cookies. If you never scroll down to the map, nothing is sent. You can block these cookies in your browser settings; see our cookie policy. See also their privacy policy.
• Plausible Analytics: traffic measurement, on an instance we host ourselves (stats.devforge.ca), in Canada. No cookies, and no data passed on to any third party.
• Website host: the site's data is hosted in Canada.

These third parties are bound by their own confidentiality commitments and process your data only as far as the service they provide requires.

7. Your rights under Law 25

As the person concerned, you hold the following rights:

• Right of access: to have it confirmed that we hold information about you, and to obtain a copy of it.
• Right to rectification: to have inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous information corrected.
• Right to withdraw consent: to withdraw, at any time, your consent to the processing of your information.
• Right to erasure and de-indexing: to ask that your information be deleted, or that it stop being circulated, where the law allows it.
• Right to portability: to receive the computerized information we hold about you in a structured, commonly used technological format.

To exercise any of these rights, write to us at info@poissonnerieescoumins.com and state the nature of your request. We undertake to answer within 30 days at most.

8. Security of your information

We apply reasonable security measures to protect your information:

• Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) across the entire site.
• Encrypted transmission of form emails, from our server to the Resend service, with no access key ever exposed in the browser.
• Access to the emails we receive restricted to authorized people within the company.
• No local storage of sensitive data (passwords, banking information) on the site.

That said, no system for transmitting information over the Internet can be considered entirely foolproof. You acknowledge that sending information over the Internet carries a residual risk.

9. Confidentiality incidents

Should a confidentiality incident present a risk of serious injury, we undertake to:

• Notify the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec without delay.
• Notify the individuals whose information is affected.
• Keep an internal register of every incident, however minor, as Law 25 requires.

10. Links to third-party sites

Our site may contain links to external sites (social networks, partners and the like). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we invite you to read their own policy before sending them any information.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect legal, technical or organizational changes. The date of the last revision appears at the top of this page, and we invite you to check it from time to time.

12. Filing a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information

If, after contacting us, you believe your rights have not been respected, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
